Built into the process, not checked at the end
At LingoConsult quality is built into the process rather than checked at the end. Every project follows the ISO 17100 process model: translation by a qualified native speaker, revision by a second linguist and a final review before delivery. We take full responsibility for everything we deliver.
How much review a text needs depends on what it will be used for, which is why we offer several levels of service. A linguistic editor corrects grammar, punctuation, style and formatting; a subject-matter editor then checks the accuracy and consistency of the terminology; and where files are laid out for print or screen, we run a final check on the formatted version.
Throughout the workflow we use industry-standard CAT tools, translation memories and terminology databases. They keep your terminology consistent from one project to the next, shorten turnaround times and reduce what you pay on repeated content.
The Price…
Fair rates, quoted up front
Our rates compare with those of individual freelance translators, and we are transparent about how a quote is built up. Translation memories mean you do not pay full price twice for the same sentence, and we offer volume discounts on large projects and on long-term cooperation. Because the amount of review a text needs varies, we quote against four service levels, from a straightforward draft translation to a fully revised and expert-checked text.
We run a deliberately lean operation. Our head office is in Sofia and our team works online, which keeps our overheads low. That is what allows us to hold prices that compare well across the European and US markets without cutting corners on the linguists we use or on the review steps we apply.
