Since 2006 we have built lasting working relationships with a vetted network of more than 600 professional linguists. We assign translators only into their mother tongue, and only in the subject fields they genuinely know — law, finance, life sciences, engineering, IT, EU affairs and marketing — so that language skill, subject knowledge and cultural insight all come from the same person.

Our selection process is deliberately strict. We check qualifications and references, assess sample work in the relevant field, and keep a record of how each linguist performs from project to project. That is how we match the right people to the right content, and how we keep the same team on your account once we have found the combination that works.

Every linguist in our network meets the professional competence criteria set out in the ISO 17100 process model:

A university degree in translation, languages or linguistics — or a degree in another discipline together with documented translation experience — or a minimum of five years’ professional translation experience
Native speaker of the target language
Full command of the source language
Demonstrated expertise in the relevant subject field
A signed non-disclosure agreement covering every assignment

LingoConsult is run by linguists rather than by salespeople. Whoever answers your enquiry has translated, revised or managed multilingual projects themselves — which is a large part of why our clients come back year after year.

All operations are managed from our head office in Sofia, Bulgaria, by an in-house team that handles the project management, vendor management and quality assurance. We are small enough to stay flexible and to give you a named contact who knows your account, and experienced enough to run large multilingual projects to a fixed schedule.

Antonia Karagyozova

Antonia founded LingoConsult in 2006 and leads the company today. Alongside running the business, she personally manages strategic accounts and the larger, more complex projects.

She holds a Master’s degree in Law and worked as a lawyer-linguist for the European Central Bank, translating and revising legal and financial texts for publication. Before founding LingoConsult she spent several years as a freelance translator specialising in law, finance and EU affairs, and worked with some of the largest companies in the translation industry — experience that shaped the agency she went on to build.

Antonia also brings an extensive background in international trade, import and export, and customs services.
